Cope Linder Architects’ design transformed this existing industrial loft building into an 84-unit luxury residential property. The existing structure offered opportunities for an interior courtyard and a 2-story over-build, converting the 6-story building into an 8-story gem. The façade was redressed with new limestone, metal panel and illuminated glass panels. Landscaped terraces and private balconies add rich details and a lively scale to the interior courtyard. An automated parking system serves the residents.
The glass and metal vestibule leads to the lobby interior where a stone accent wall and luminescent panels create a dramatic focus. The lobby’s metal staircase extends up to a second floor exterior courtyard which is designed as an "urban oasis". This courtyard was created by removing the center of the original building, providing the opportunity for the lushly landscaped open courtyard.
A total of 84 loft apartments including one, two, three and four-bedroom units, ranging from 850 to 4,300 SF have been provided. The two-story over-build at the top of the building is designed as larger townhouse style units, which are set back from the existing building façade to create outdoor terraces.
