This 100,000 SF waterfront casino accommodates 1,600 slots, 45 table games, 2 bars and a restaurant with a riverfront terrace. A second phase, currently under construction and scheduled to be completed 2015, adds 150,000 SF of casino and support space, expanding the casino to 2,200 slots, 85 table games and 28 poker tables. The expansion also includes a seven story 1,500 parking structure and improved loading facilities within the ground floor of the structure. SugarHouse is designed to take full advantage of its proximity to Center City Philadelphia, offering spectacular views of both the city and the Delaware River. The casino’s contemporary metal panel exterior is expressive of the urbanity and scale of the former industrial site. The site design emphasizes the importance of both pedestrian and vehicular approaches, defining these with lush landscaping, public gathering spaces and a riverfront promenade. Distinctive “sugar cube” light fixtures sparkle under the grand porte-cochere canopy, while multi-colored luminescent panels define the entry.
