The Caribbean landscape provides the inspiration for a contemporary tropical island theme in the Isle of Capri Casino at the Pompano Park Raceway in Pompano Beach, Florida. The design for the new casino is set within a lush landscaped site, while the exterior and interior architecture emphasizes vibrant colors, patterns and textures. The project includes new spectator grandstands overlooking the 5/8 mile harness racing track and a new landscaped winner’s circle. The casino design includes 1,500 slots with a high limits amenities area, a poker room, four restaurants and three bars.
Cope Linder’s role began with the preparation of a comprehensive master plan for casino expansion and future development on the 220 acre site. The development program includes casino expansion and entertainment venues, two hotel towers with separate porte-cochere, condominiums, apartments, offices, main street retail and structured parking. The plan integrates each of these elements into a landscape concept featuring open space amenities and water features.
