The Client’s charge to Cope Linder Architects was to design a new sophisticated, large-scale multiplex theater specializing in independently-released, limited distribution “art” films for mature audiences in a suburban environment. The result is a contemporary, but understated, 12-screen movie house. The theater auditoriums are arrayed around a gracious and elegantly appointed lobby, offering enclaves of classic Modern museum-quality furnishings, with tastefully-designed concession stands amidst subdued lighting and graphics. Each auditorium features tiered stadium seating with excellent sight-lines and state-of-the-art, automated projection systems and acoustic technologies, providing an incomparable cinematic entertainment experience.
The 50,000 SF Ritz Theater Voorhees has been a resounding commercial success and was subsequently expanded to 18 auditoriums.
