Located at the center of Swarthmore village and at the edge of the college campus, this 45,000 SF, 3-story facility includes a 5,000 SF campus store, a 100-seat restaurant, 2,400 SF meeting and banquet facilities and The Inn at Swarthmore with 40 guestrooms. Serving as the College's gateway and gathering place for visitors, alumni and community, Swarthmore Town Center West reflects the College's Quaker tradition and is designed to complement the scale of the existing village center.
The site plan also re-routes the campus access roadway, presenting an improved southern gateway to the campus. With the historic Swarthmore regional rail station immediately adjacent, this project also serves as an ideal example of transit related development.
The project is designed to achieve LEED-Silver certification.
