Sited at the southwest corner of the Community College of Philadelphia Campus, the Business & Industry Center serves as a gateway from Center City. Complementing the historic U. S. Mint building nearby, the new building features classical proportions with contemporary detailing. The three floors of academic spaces front onto Franklintown Boulevard and Callowhill Street and feature a two story atrium entered through a high public arcade. The 96,000 SF building design incorporated "smart" classrooms, student support and faculty offices and dedicated spaces for the College's digital information systems, continuing education and adult learning programs. On a lower level an additional 72,000 SF parking deck accommodates 130 cars.
